Description	:	Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church for Mrs. William Murrison who died Sunday at her home following a week's illness from pneumonia. The Reverend E. W. F. Holler had charge of the services and he was assisted by Reverend Malcom Steward. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Elizabeth Ballantyne was born November 30, 1843 at Smith Falls, Ontario Canada. She was the oldest of seven children of Mr. and Mrs. William Ballantyne, both natives of Scotland. She attended the schools in Smith Falls and when she was 17 the whole family moved to Long Grove near Davenport in Scott County, Iowa. Her mother died while they were living in Long Grove. She was married at Long Grove in 1866 to William Murrison, also a native of Scotland. The next year they moved to Brooklyn, her father having come here they year before, after her mother's death. The Murrisons bought the farm where John E. Roudabush now lives and lived there for 30 years. In 1898 they moved to town settling in the home where Mrs. Murrison passed away Sunday morning. Mr. Murrison died in 1921. A daughter, Mrs. Effie McGregor has lived with her mother during her old age and she and the sons have been especially devoted. Her life was greatly saddened by the loss of an infant daughter and of Madge, who died of diphtheria at the age of 12 years. She leaves besides her many, many friends, two sons, Simpson and Gordon Murrison and one daughter, Mrs. Effie McGregor, one granddaughter, Mrs. Ralph McLaughlin and one great granddaughter, Kathryn McLaughlin, the latter two of St. Louis, Mo.
