Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, September 14, 1967 Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Himmelberg, 88, were held at the St. Stephens Church at Lawrence, Monday, September 11, wiht (sic) Father O'Conner officiating. Mrs. Himmelberg had been a resident of Nelson for the past two years, being cared for in the home of her son, George and wife, up until the past 8 months which she spent in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, where she passed away Friday, September 8. ============================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, September 21, 1967; pg. 4 Funeral services were held, Monday at 10:00 o'clock at St. Stephens Church for Mrs. Lizzie Himmelberg, with Father James O'Connor officiating and with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lizzie Himmelberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lemke, was born at Lawrence, Nebr., on April 6, 1978, and passed away at the Nelson Good Samaritan Home on September 8, at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to John Himmelberg in September 16, 1897, at St. Stephens Church. She spent her entire life in this community. She is survived by five sons, Mark, Henry, John P. of Lawrence, Norbert of Omaha and George of Nelson; three daughters, Mrs. Alvin Kitten of Stratton, Colo., Mrs. William Schumm and Mrs. Ray Alber of Blue Hill. She is also survived by 54 grandchildren and 134 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Kometscher of Lawrence, Mrs. John Sahm of Indianola, Mrs. Henry Putoff of Valley Falls, Kans., and three brothers, John Lemke of Inavale, William Lemke of Superior, and Henry Lemke of Hastings. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died December 26, 1947; two children, Jacob in infancy and Anna in 1940. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Donald, Gerald, Kenneth and Gary Himmelberg, LeRoy Shumm and Vincent Kitten. Attending the services from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Kitten of Stratton, Colo., Mr. and (NOTE: typed as written in newspaper) Vincent of Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. John Sahm and Clarence Sahm, and Mrs. Frank Uenting of Indianola, Mrs. Minnie Kelly, Alonzo Kelly and Mrs. Myrtle Birch of Glasco Kansas. Many other relatives and friends were from Roseland, Clay Center, Lexington, Bellevue, Omaha, Friend, Upland, Blue Hill, Hastings and Fairfield.
