Whereas, It has pleased our Merciful Heavenly Father to transfer from the darkness of earth to the right Mansions of Heaven, Miss Lizzie Thompson, and Whereas, The deceased is the beloved and only sister of James C. and Charles M. Thompson, our valued friends and fellow members of the Clayonian Literary Society of Lennox College, therefore be it. Resolved that we tender to the sorrow stricken brothers and heart broken parents of the departed sister and daughter, our deepest sympathy. "Aunt Matilda (Orr) Wilson who was one year younger than Lizzie said Lizzie's death was the first time that she really realized what death was and the short time that we had on earth."
