Description	:	MRS. GEORGE FARQUHAR Mrs. Geo. Farquhar died Friday morning at her home on Second Avenue where she had been in health for seven years. Elizabeth Farquhar, daughter of Munson B. Barkalow and Laurana Worrall Barkalow, was born March 25, 1863 near Atalissa, Iowa, and was 84 years old at her death. She with her husband George Farquhar, whose death occurred October 24, 1946, came to Villisca from Muscatine, Iowa in 1893, and she had therefore been a continuous resident of Vilisca for 55 years. Farquhar died Friday morning at her home on Second Avenue where she had been in health for seven years. Elizabeth Farquhar, daughter of Munson B. Barkalow and Laurana Worrall Barkalow, was born March 25, 1863 near Atalissa, Iowa, and was 84 years old at her death. She with her husband George Farquhar, whose death occurred October 24, 1946, came to Villisca from Muscatine, Iowa in 1893, and she had therefore been a continuous resident of Vilisca for 55 years. Approximately one week prior to the death of her husband, in 1946, they had celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary. Mrs. Farquhar is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Jones of Villisca, 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones Marsh and Wilma Jones Downing of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and George W. Jones of Inglewood, California, also 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Wallace, Long Beach, California, and Mrs. E. C. Rolland, Chula Vista, California. Mrs. Farquhar was for many years an active worker in the Christian Church and in more recent years in the Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the P.E.O., having once been president of the organization. Funeral services were held at the Pitman Funeral Home Monday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. M. A. Robeson The singing was by Mrs. Icle Fisher, accompanied by Mrs. J. L. Wheeler, and assisting with flowers were Mrs. Florence English and Mrs. Grace Muller. The pall bearers were Robert Moore, C. G. English, Frank Lenhart, R. D. Bontrager, Cl. L. Meyerhoff, and Judd Means, and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Villisca Review, Villisca, Iowa, Thursday, January 15, 1948, page 4
