Oliver, and F. E. Butler. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Georg P. Farquhar, son of Francis P. and Lucina Bagley Farquhar, was born August 15, 1860 in Fredericksburg, Ohio and departed this life after a brief illness of three days, at his home on Second Avenue, Villisca, on Thursday evening, October 24. He had attained the age of 86 years. He moved to eastern Iowa in 1870. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Barkalow in 1882 at Atalissa, Iowa and to this union one daughter was born, Blanche. The family moved to Villisca in 1893 where fro a while, mr. Farquhar worked in the J. S. Banes Hardware Store, later going into the grocery business for himself. He retire in 1925. Mr. Farquhar served as Mayor of Vilisca for 3 terms from 1928 to 1939. All the members of the town council during the time of his office are still living and were honorary pall bearers at his funeral. He also served as chief of Villisca Fire Company for many years. Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral include Miss Lula Reed, Red Oak; Mrs. Arthur Farquhar, Miss May Farquhar, Auburn, Iowa; Mrs. and Mrs. Morris Leonard, Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Frank Kuhns, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. John Marsh and Mrs. Don Downing, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Villisca Review, Villisca, Iowa, Thursday, October 31, 1946, page 1
