Read More	Daughter of Henry Elias Bexten & Louise Barbara Struempf Wife of Frank Aloysius Welschmeyer Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Welschmeyer, of Freeburg, was born November 13, 1920, at Rich Fountain, a daughter of Henry Elias and Louise Barbara (Struempf) Bexten, and departed this life at 9:33 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in St. Marys Health Center, Jefferson City. Mrs. Welschmeyer had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 84 years, three months, and 25 days. Mrs. Welschmeyer was united in marriage on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1939, at Freeburg to Frank Aloysius Welschmeyer, and to this union 12 children were born. Their marriage spanned 62 years. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 20, 2002; one daughter, Esther Klebba; two grandsons, Daniel Groner and Frank A. "Frankie" Welschmeyer; her parents; five brothers, George Bexten, John Bexten, Alfred Bexten, Joe Bexten and Steve Bexten; and one sister, Julianna Bexten on February 15, 1927. Mrs. Welschmeyer was a devoted housewife on their Gasconade River crop and livestock farm from 1939 until 1973. At that time, she retired to their new home just outside of Freeburg. Mrs. Welschmeyer was the mother of six daughters and six sons. She was an avid quilter and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg for 64 years. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Welschmeyer include: six sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lucille Welschmeyer, Freeburg, Jerome and Stephanie Welschmeyer, Dixon, Leroy Welschmeyer, Freeburg, Steve and Mayo Welschmeyer, Freeburg, Fr. Joe Welschmeyer, Ballwin, and Bernard and Ruth Welschmeyer, Freeburg; five daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Clem Groner, St. Thomas, Mary and Fred Wiegers, Freeburg, Janice and Danny Plemmons, Freeburg, Joyce and Ben Robinson, St. Charles, and Sara Daniel, Freeburg and fiancee Wayne Henderson; one son-in-law, Gene Klebba, Taos; one sister, Marie Bexten, Rich Fountain; two sisters-in-law, Joan Bexten, Rich Fountain and Stella Bexten, Manilla, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2005 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2005, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with her son Fr. Joe Welschmeyer, pastor, Holy Infant Catholic Church, Ballwin, officiating. Services are under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be made to the Holy Family Parish Fund in her memory.
