Description	:	Elizabeth Mary Hinkel, daughter of Franz and Elizabeth Hinkel, was born June 23, 1866, at Chadwick, Illinois, and departed this life at her home in Fairmont, Nebr., September 25, 1944, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and one day. She grew to young womanhood midst the scenes of her birth and was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Henry Keil at Chadwick, Ill., January 30, 1884. To this union two children were born: Conrad, Fairmont, and William, who passed away, December 22, 1943. Her husband departed this life in April of 1936. To this union two children were born: Conrad, Fairmont, and William, who passed away, December 22, 1943. Her husband departed this life in April of 1936. In January, 1884, Mrs. Keil came to Nebraska with her husband and settled in Fillmore county, where she spent the remainder of her life, except for five years, which were spent in Illinois. Mrs. Keil was a woman of high courage and greatly devoted to her home and family. During the early years of pioneering, when the country was new and rugged, she learned to be patient and long-suffering. Staunch of character, she took the years in their stride and carved out a name which will endure beyond the memory of her immediate family. Truly, a great soul has gone on to be with her Lord. She made profession of her faith in Jesus Christ during girlhood and was received into the fellowship of the Evangelical church of Chadwick. Later, she transferred her membership to the Congregational church of Fairmont, and after the federation, she became a member of the Federated church. She remained firm in her convictions until her Lord called her home. Mrs. Keil was also a member of the Sunset club. She leaves to mourn her departure, one son, Conrad, Fairmont; three grandchildren, Mrs. Erma Perkins, Ralph Keil and Mrs. Ruby Real, all of Fairmont; four great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, John W. Hinkel, Frank Hinkel, Mrs. Annie Schreiner, H.C. Hinkel and Sarah Schleuming, all of Chadwick, Mrs. Charles Freeman (niece), Mt. Carroll, Ill., and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Fairmont Federated church, the pastor, Rev. E.R. King, officiating. The singers were Mrs. Mamie Kemp, Miss Margaret Aldrich, W.E. Black and Oliver Moul, with Mrs. Gailard Philson at the organ. Interment was made in the family plot in the Fairmont cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Joy, Lloyd Broman, Oliver Kness, Herman Brown, William E. Plock and Frank Cudaback.
