Description	:	Henry Keil, son of Conrad and Elizabeth, was born in Carroll county, Illinois, March 23, 1863, and died at his home in Fairmont, Nebraska, Wednesday, April 22, 1936; aged seventy-three years and one month. Read More	Henry Keil, son of Conrad and Elizabeth, was born in Carroll county, Illinois, March 23, 1863, and died at his home in Fairmont, Nebraska, Wednesday, April 22, 1936; aged seventy-three years and one month. He was the last survivor of a family of six children. On January 30, 1884, Mr. Keil was united in marriage to Elizabeth Mary Hinkel of Chadwick, Illinois. Immediately after their marriage, they came to Nebraska, locating northeast of Fairmont. In 1908 they moved to town, where they have resided since that date. Two children were born to them, Conrad and William, both of Fairmont Mr. Keil was in his teens when he was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Chadwick, Illinois. Soon after his confirmation he began teaching a Sunday school class. Later he transferred to the Fulton Illinois Methodist church. When they moved to Nebraska they united with the Congregational church of Fairmont. He served his church in the capacity of trustee, and was a faithful attendant at the church service. He had a great interest in his church. This interest continued up to the very last. One of the regrets during his sickness was that he was unable to attend church. He had been a member of the Modern Woodman lodge for forty-five years and of the I.O.O.F for thirty-six years, becoming past grandmaster of the latter. His active interest in the community was manifested in many ways, one of which was serving on the city council. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two sons, Conrad and William; three grandchildren: Mrs. Emma Perkins, Ralph and Ruby Keil; one great-grandchild, Beverly Jean Perkins; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were from the Federated church Friday afternoon, April 24, the minister, Rev. Isaac Cassel, officiating. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet, Mrs. Mamie Kemp, Mrs. Mary Goodrich, W.E. Black and Oliver Moul, with Marjorie Starks as organist. Members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, from both the Fairmont and Exeter lodges attended in a body. The pallbearers were lodge members: W. E. Goodrich, W.R. Dorrance, J.J. Clark, R.E. Bruce, Harry Mills and Charles Shoemaker. The lodge had charge of the service at the grave. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery.
