Description	:	Daughter of David James and Martha E. Pray Gwinn. Sister to Laura M. Gwinn Britton. First wife of Dr. Joseph F. Holcomb, married on 29 DEC 1864 in Highland County, Virginia. They had two daughters born about 1866 and 1867, they later divorced. Second wife to Henry G. Britton, married after both her and Henry's spouses died on 28 MAR 1876 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Missouri. Died. Lizzie R. Britton, wife of H. G. Britton, died suddenly March 6 (sic), at 11 o'clock. She was walking across the room to retire when she fell to the floor. Dr. Smith was called and pronounced it apoplexy. She rallied before she died and said, "Oh, my head hurts me so!" Mrs. Britton was 56 years, 8 months and 24 days old. She was born in Highland (sic) county. Virginia, and came to Missouri in 1872. She was a member of the Baptist church at Walkersville. Brother J. A. Day, her former pastor, preached the funeral and she was laid to rest in Bacon Chapel cemetery, where several of her children are sleeping. She left a husband, a son and daughter to mourn her loss.
