The death occurred at 'Mount View', Spencer's Gully, on Wednesday night of Mrs. Elizabeth Rolfe, relict of the late Mr. James Rolfe. Deceased, who was 82 years of age, lived in the Inverell district for over 75 years and she resided at Spencer's Gully for 64years. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Whitby, of Dog Trap, the late Mrs. Rolfe was born at Armidale and she was only 5 or 6 years of age when she came to Inverell. The Whitby's first home was at Urabatta Street and the late Mrs. Ro!fe remembered when the site of the main part of Inverell to-day was known as the Green Swamp. After a number of years on Urabatta Street, Mr. and Mrs. Whitby and family moved to Dog Trap and they resided there for a long period. During her long association with the residents of Spencer Gully the late Mrs. Rolfe won the respect and admiration of all and sundry. For many years she has resided with her son and daughter-in- law, Mr. and Mr. V. J. Rolfe.
