Description	:	1901 - 1910 Sister The Black Hills Daily Register newspaper of August 31, 1910 reported, "At 8:30 this morning, at the family home on North Stone street, occurred the death of little Mary Elizabeth Daly (sic), the eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Daly. Death was due to cerebro spinal meningitis, after an illness of but forty-eight hours. Read More	1901 - 1910 Sister The Black Hills Daily Register newspaper of August 31, 1910 reported, "At 8:30 this morning, at the family home on North Stone street, occurred the death of little Mary Elizabeth Daly (sic), the eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Daly. Death was due to cerebro spinal meningitis, after an illness of but forty-eight hours. The Dalys are among the early settlers of Lead and have a host of friends who will sorrow with them in the great bereavement that has robbed their home of its ray of sunshine. Relatives in Montana and Missouri have been telegraphed and upon the replies received from them will depend the date of the funeral." Black Hills Daily Register, September 1, 1910 - "Funeral services for little Elizabeth Wilson Daly will be held at the family home, at No. 8 North Stone street, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Rev. M.F. Montgomery officiating. The remains will be interred in the South Lead cemetery. Lizzie was pianist for the Girls' Auxiliary, and the girls of that organization will attend the funeral in a body." Lead Daily Call newspaper, Friday, September 2, 1910, page 4: Remains at Rest. After appropriate services at the family home, No. 8 North Stone street, at 2:30 this afternoon, the remains of little Elizabeth Wilson Daly (sic) were laid at rest in the family lot in the South Lead cemetery. Rev. M.F. Montgomery of the Episcopal church officiated at the home and at the grave. Litt Elizabeth, or Lizzie, as her hundreds of friends affectionately called her, was eight years and eight months of age when she died – August 31, 1910. She was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. John Daly (sic), pioneer residents of the city, and was one of the most likeable children one would meet in a day’s travel, being very bright and lady like. Little Lizzie made friends with old and young almost on sight, and her fond parents are almost prostrated by her untimely death. She was ill but forty-eight hours, dying of cerebro spinal meningitis, and the suddenness of her taking off makes it hard to realize that her cheery voice will ne’er more be heard around the home place. The funeral was largely attended by the friends of Lizzie and of the family and a number of beautiful floral offerings covered the casket in which her body was interred. She was pianist for the Girls’ Auxiliary to the labor unions, and her sister members as well as the members of the Boys’ union, attended the funeral in large numbers. The pallbearers were John Kaleb, Thomas Gorman, Peter Hanley, John McBride and John Pasquill.
