Description	:	Ella Anna Bures was born to Henry C. and Mary Kucera Schmidt on April 5, 1894, on a farm six miles northeast of Geneva, and passed away on June 10, 1980, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 5 days. Read More	Ella Anna Bures was born to Henry C. and Mary Kucera Schmidt on April 5, 1894, on a farm six miles northeast of Geneva, and passed away on June 10, 1980, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 5 days. She was one of five children in the family. On October 8, 1913, she was united in marriage to James B. Bures. They made their home in Milligan, where he was a drayman for two years. From there they moved to a farm near Burress, three years later, they moved to the farm northwest of Geneva. They resided there until his passing, May 31, 1954. To this union was born one daughter, Sylvia Marie. Ella moved to Geneva and resided there until her health failed in October of 1975. She then resided at the Bethesda Care Center in Exeter until her recent hospitalization. Ella was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and also a member of the Geneva Township Club. Her pride and joy were her family and flowers. She enjoyed her many friends and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Otto; and one sister, Emma. She is survived by her only daughter, Sylvia and son-in-law, Ross Johnson; three grandchildren, Linda (Mrs. Louis Schafer) of Tobias, Lowell and Hubert of Geneva; seven great-grandchildren, Larry, Lu Ann, Lonnie and Lee Shafer; Mike Johnson; Connie Woodward and Donna Johnson; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Schmidt of Geneva and Charles Schmidt of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12, with Rev. Woodrow W. Wilson officiating. Pallbearers were: Edwin Bures, Frank Bures, Cleo W. Rabbe, Erwin E. Schmidt, Roger Schmidt and Fred Votipka. Burial was in the Geneva Cemetery. “Don’t feel sad, for I am Ready to go now. I have lived a long life, Lots of memories. Some good, some not Pleasant, Just an average life. Am thankful for many things. I loved nature and people too.
