Description	:	ELLA JANE ANDERSON Death of Ella J. Anderson born in Hickman County, Kentucky 25th day of July 1848. Died October 13, 1914 at age 66 years, 2 months, and 18 days. She was the second child of eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. William I. Anderson. Her mother died when she was 17, leaving her the care of the family and mistress of the home. The... Read More	ELLA JANE ANDERSON Death of Ella J. Anderson born in Hickman County, Kentucky 25th day of July 1848. Died October 13, 1914 at age 66 years, 2 months, and 18 days. She was the second child of eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. William I. Anderson. Her mother died when she was 17, leaving her the care of the family and mistress of the home. The family resided some time in Kentucky, Indiana and Iowa, and moved to Pawnee County Nebraska in the spring of 1859, consequently the family passed through the strenuous days of the early settlement of the country. The parents homesteaded the farm 5 1/2 miles northwest of Pawnee City, known as the Anderson farm in 1865. The family have since made their home on the old homestead, and it is still owned by them. Three brothers, one sister and both parents preceded her to try the realities of the unseen. Mother Elizabeth A. Anderson died Dec. 25, 1866; David L. died Jan. 26, 1870; Father William I. died April 19, 1888; Elizabeth A. Stone died Mar. 12, 1905; Robert F. died March 30, 1909, and William H. died Feb. 2, 1914. Through the ministry of R.C. Barrow and D.R. Dungan the Pawnee City Christian church was organized, and the parents, Robert F. and Ella J. came into the church under their administration. Ella, while caring for the home, attended the seminary and finished her education so that she could teach school and help to provide for the family, some of whom knew no mother other than she. One says, "I know her more as a mother than a sister." She leaves one sister Mary A. and two brothers, J.L. & M.O. Anderson, besides many neices and nephews and friends to mourn their loss.
