Description	:	Mrs. Julia Ella Manchester, 66, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday at her home on West Eighth Street, following a long illness with cancer of the stomach. She had resided in Villisca since 1887. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the DeLaney one and burial was made in the Villisca Cemetery. The Rev. L. B. Carpenter conducted the rites. Singing was by Mrs. Harry Tyler and Mrs. A. F. Davie, with Miss Emma Marvick as accompanist, the pall bearers were L. D. Coy, William Dow, Louis Garey, W. G. Darnold, Hugh Wheelock and Perry Yarrington. Ella Julia Manchester was born July 31, 1865 at East Poultney, Vermont, a daughter of George Warren Manchester and Louisa Minah, Kilburn. As a child she moved with her parents to Davenport, Iowa and later resided for several years in Missouri. On February 27, 1887, she was married to J. W. DeLaney in Clarinda, Iowa. The couple came to Villisca immediately after their marriage, and have spent their entire married life in this city. They are the parents of four children of whom three are living. Besides the husband, Mrs. Delaney is survived by one son and two daughter, They are Mrs. Ethel Newton of clarinda and Mrs. Xenia Dowhower and George W. DeLaney of Villisca. She leaves also her mother, Mrs. Louisa Manchester of Skidmore, Missouri, who is 90 years old, and one brother and two sisters who are Frank Manchester, Mrs. Emogene Morehead, and Mrs. Leona Newton, all of Skidmore.
