Description	:	Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon at the Wolfe Funeral Home for Jesse William Delaney, former Villiscan who died Saturday morning at the Municipal Hospital in Clarinda. He resided in Villisca many years prior to seven years ago when he went to Clarinda to make his home with his daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Newton. The Rev. Read More	Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon at the Wolfe Funeral Home for Jesse William Delaney, former Villiscan who died Saturday morning at the Municipal Hospital in Clarinda. He resided in Villisca many years prior to seven years ago when he went to Clarinda to make his home with his daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Newton. The Rev. Joe Tom Tate was in charge of the services here, and the singing was by Mrs. Frances Gray accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Joe Tom Tate. The pall bearers were J. R. Kirk, C. G. English, Frank Umphress, Elias Lewis, F. Selley, and Carl R. Taylor and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery beside Mr. DeLaney’s wife. Mr. DeLaney was born in Montgomery County, December 17, 1864 and lacked but 10 days of being 82 years old. He spent his entire life in this community with the exception of the last seven years. H was married in 1887 to Ella Julia Manchester who preceded him in death 14 years ago. Surviving him are four children, Mrs. Ethel Newton, Clarinda, Mrs. Zenia Dowhower and Mrs. Xenia Rogers, Red Oak, and George DeLaney, Villisca. One daughter Lydia died January 28, 1898.
