Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. She died Jan. 7, 2006, at the Garrison Memorial Hospital. Ella Rattei, daughter of Jacob and Mathilda (Dobler) Rattei was born Jan. 8, 1914, near Forbes, N.D., and raised on the family farm. She attended country school. She was united in marriage to Robert Teske on June 29, 1940, at Aberdeen. They made their home north of Monango, N.D., where they raised small grains and livestock. In 1976, they retired and in 1977 they moved into Ellendale. Her husband died April 25, 1985, and she continued to make Ellendale her home. She was then united in marriage to Fred Gall on Aug. 1, 1987, at Ellendale. They lived in Ellendale. Her husband died April 21, 1992. In 1997, she moved to Garrison to be close to a granddaughter and in 1999 she entered the Benedictine Living Center. Ella was an excellent seamstress and made her own clothes. She loved flowers and had many flower gardens along with vegetable gardens. She was a great cook and baker and will always be remembered for being a hard worker. For relaxation, she made and painted small ceramic animals and in the winter months she would draw and paint. Survivors include two sons, Melvin (Linda) Teske of Berlin, N.D., and Curtis (Kimberly) Teske of Caldwell, Idaho; one daughter, Louise (Don) Williams of Vancouver, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Teske of Dover, Del.; one brother, Jake Rattei of Ashley; one sister, Nora Heupel of Hettinger, N.D.; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her parents, both husbands, one son, Dean Teske, and one sister, Esther Nitschke, preceded her in death. Casketbearers will be Marvin Teske, Curtis Teske, Melvin Teske, Lester Rattei, John Teske and Jason Rattei. The family prefers memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
