Description	:	Ella Wehmer was born on a farm near Sterling, Nebraska, Oct. 3, 1887. She was the second daughter of Harm Wehmer and his wife, Anna nee Stindt. She was baptized Oct. 23, 1887, by Rev. J. Wolff and was confirmed March 23, 1902, in the Lutheran church in Sterling, by Rev. H. Wendt. Most of her life was spent on the farm until she was married, June 6, 1922 to Ray G. Porter by Rev. W.L. Doole, after which she lived in Adams. To this union two little girls were born, Merla May,... Read More	Ella Wehmer was born on a farm near Sterling, Nebraska, Oct. 3, 1887. She was the second daughter of Harm Wehmer and his wife, Anna nee Stindt. She was baptized Oct. 23, 1887, by Rev. J. Wolff and was confirmed March 23, 1902, in the Lutheran church in Sterling, by Rev. H. Wendt. Most of her life was spent on the farm until she was married, June 6, 1922 to Ray G. Porter by Rev. W.L. Doole, after which she lived in Adams. To this union two little girls were born, Merla May, age 26 months and Ruth Irene, age ten months, who with her husband, mother, father, three sisters and two brothers mourn her untimely death. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in childhood. She was sick only ten days and passed away, of Influenza-pneumonia Sept. 30, 1925, aged 37 years, 11 months and 27 days. She had many friends and all who knew her loved her for her fine womanly ways. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Burke, pastor of the Presbyterian church, were largely attended. Interment was in Highland cemetery.
