Mrs. W. O. Wilson Had Been in Poor Health Several Months. Cotesfield—A pall of gloom came over this town, Thursday morning, when it was learned that Mrs. W. O. Wilson had passed away early that morning at a hospital in Grand Island. Mrs. Wilson had been in poor health for several months and had been taken there a few days before, for treatment. Ella Jacobs was born near Elba, Nebraska, Feb. 6, 1877. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jacobs. She grew to womanhood in the precinct. In March, 1895 she was united in marriage to Ernest Maddox. To this union eight children were born, one dying in infancy. Those living are Mrs. Harry Thrasher of Big Springs, Mrs. Hugh Anderson of Benkleman, Mrs. Clarence Steger of Racine, Wis., Mrs. Jim Carruth of Scotia, Mrs. Edwin Doncheski, of Cotesfield, Paul Maddox of St. Francis, Kansas, and Terrill Maddox of Benkleman. On February 20, 1929, she was united in marriage to W. O. Wilson of Cotesfield. They made their home south of Cotesfield until the time of her death, Oct. 8 1942, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 2 days. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and children, grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Wilson was dearly loved by all. She was a very cheerful and patient woman and this endeared her to all who knew her. She was a very devoted wife, a kind and understanding mother, and grandmother, a sincere friend and a good neighbor. Being of a very home loving nature, her departure will be greatly felt by her loved ones. Funeral services were held at the U. B. church in Cotesfield, on Saturday afternoon, with Rev. Ha. A. McKelvey officiating. The choir, composed of Mrs. A. K. Coombs, Mrs. H. R. DeLand, and Al Weinrich, with Mrs. Harry Lindsay at the piano sang, "Near To The Heart of God," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "rock of Ages." Pallbearers were Pete Jacobson, Pete Hansen, Ras Rasmussen, Jess Parker, Wm. Doncheski and Raymond Parker. The flower bearers were Mesdames Rudolph Bebernes, Erving Hazel, Tom Jensen and Peter Hansen. Interment was made in the Scotia cemetery. Where are the mothers like you in the world? No where, no where, I know; I never would find one so wonderous as you. Wherever I happened to go. I know that there isn't another like you, A mother so perfect--, there couldn't be two.
