The funeral services were conducted in the Catholic church at Ulysses, Nov. 29, and she was buried in the Catholic cemetery at that place. The funeral services were conducted in the Catholic church at Ulysses, Nov. 29, and she was buried in the Catholic cemetery at that place. The respect and esteem in which she was held was demonstrated by one of the largest funeral processions that ever assembled at that church. She was born in the county of Monahan in Ireland, in 1830, from which in 1852 she emigrated to the United States. In 1853, at Willimantic, Conn., she was married to John Morrison, who still survives her, and from this happy union eleven children were born, of whom only four are now living, Edward, Mary, wife of O. J. Schmitt, Joseph, and Ellen, wife of Jremiah Grey [Jeremiah Gray]. Her husband, wishing to take advantage of the great opportunities in Nebraska and to enjoy better conditions than the eastern states could offer, came to this state in 1880 and settled on their present farm four miles northwest of Seward, where they established a refined and very happy home. Mrs. Morrison was a woman of energy and perseverance, kind and cheerful of disposition, possessing the respect of all her neighbors, was a devoted Catholic and was influential in the reconstruction of the present beautiful church in Seward. The sympathies of all go out to the bereaved family.
