Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Kendall were held on Saturday, June 15, 1968 at 2:30 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeal Home with Rev. Alston B. Hall officiating. The organist, Mrs. Frances Gray presented the organ selections, "The Old Rugged Cross." Casketbearers included, Elmer Higgins, Richard Higgins, Howard Sturm, Larry Higgins, Allen Mick, and Harold Grimes. Beckwith and Sarah Jane Ward, was born December 28, 1882 in Wichita, Kansas and passed away June 13, 1968 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Kendall was raised and spent most of her life in the Red Oak - Villisca community. The past thirty years, however she lived in Peoria, Illinois. She was a member of the First Christian Church in that city. She was united in marriage to William H. Kendall on December 22, 1909 and to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Swartz of Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in November 1957 and by one sister and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter and by one sister, Mrs. Mamie Pratt of Red Oak, Iowa. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and friends. Villisca Review, Thursday, June 27, 1968, page 6
