The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 11, 1929 =============== Mrs. Ellen Templeton was born in West Bend, Wisconsin, January 6, 1859, and was summoned to her eternal home on April 6, 1929. She was united in holy wedlock with W.I. Templeton on Christmas day, 1883. To this union was born three children: Mrs. Helene Boyd, Mrs. Genevieve Portwood, and Warren Templeton. Helene Boyd is the only survivor of the children who is left to mourn her loss, together with two grand children: Val Dean Portwood and Jean Boyd, and two sisters: Mrs. C.H. Wolf of Riverside, California, and Mrs. T.W. Cole of Nelson, Nebraska. In 1884 Mr. and Mrs. Templeton moved to Nelson, Nebraska, where these children were born and where they made their home until 1917, when Mr. Templeton was called to the great beyond. After a short time Mrs. Templeton went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Boyd at Gretna, Nebraska. Mrs. Templeton united with the Presbyterian church at Nelson early in her married life and has been a zealous and earnest Christian all of her life and a true member of her church until a few years ago when she joined the Methodist church at Gretna, there being no Presbyterian church there. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Nelson Monday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Pastor Stephen H. Jones in charge. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 11, 1929; pg. 4
