Read More	The Jewell Record Jewell, Iowa Thursday, Aug. 23, 1956 LAST RITES HELD FOR ELLEN MARIE LUNDIEN Ellen Marie Lundien, daughter of Carl and Johannah Chingren was born February 24, 1876 in Ostergotland, Sweden, and departed this life August 8, 1956, after a prolonged illness, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 15 days. Ellen came to America at the age of 7 years and lived near Marathon, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Gustaf Lundien March 17, 1897. They lived and worked on farms in Webster County most of their life. Mrs. Lundien was a practical nurse for a number of years. She had been a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church since 1949. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Her husband passed away in 1943. She leaves to mourn her death, two brothers, Ernest Chingren of Spokane, Wash., and David Nelson of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. August (Esther) Johnson of Stratford, Mrs. Edna Carrothers of Ventura, Calif., and Mrs. Donald (Elsa) Feltus of Ventura, Calif.; two sons, Arvey Lundien of Webster City and Raymond Lundien of Humboldt. Also there are three nephews, two nieces, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services for Ellen Lundien were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 10, in the Stratford Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Lawrence S. Anderson officiating. Three musical selections were sung by Mrs. Lester Anderson and Mrs. Ed Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Angstrom at the organ. Those serving as pallbearers were: Dale Kane, Lester Vinson, Wesley Peterson, Fabian Peterson, Melvin Engstrom and Frank Poulson. Interment was made in the South Marion Cemetery with the Hanson Funeral Home in charge. * * * * * Born in Åsbo parish, Östergötland, Sweden.
