Description	:	Ellis Christianson, 85, Kenmare, ND, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020, of natural causes in his home at the farm where he was born. Ellis Christianson was born on the family farm near Kenmare, ND on January 8, 1935 a son of Bennie and Gina (Anderson) Christianson. He attended grade school at Kenaston Country School and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1952. Ellis started farming after high school southwest of Kenmare. Read More	Ellis Christianson, 85, Kenmare, ND, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020, of natural causes in his home at the farm where he was born. Ellis Christianson was born on the family farm near Kenmare, ND on January 8, 1935 a son of Bennie and Gina (Anderson) Christianson. He attended grade school at Kenaston Country School and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1952. Ellis started farming after high school southwest of Kenmare. On December 31, 1956 Ellis was united in marriage to Joan Johnsen in Kenmare at the Methodist church. They had two children, Greg in 1958 and Brenda in 1960. Together they farmed and raised their family. Joan passed away in 2003. Ellis continued to farm, a total of 67 years, at the time of his death. Ellis and Joan enjoyed life very much. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose clubs in Minot. The spent many weekends at Lake Sakakawea in the summers with their Cabin Cruiser. He went on many Caribbean cruises and other trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Okinawa, Rome, New York, and Wichita, KS. He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church of Kenmare, ND and also served on many boards including Farmers Union Lumber board, Kenmare Hospital, and Spencer Township. Surviving family includes: children, Greg Christianson and Brenda Marr; grandchildren, Tyler (Amity), Tawyna, Tracey, and Timmy Marr; great-grandchild, Ellis; sisters, Bonnie Jean (Robert) Johnson and Gail (Richard) Lindquist; brothers-in-law, Donald Johnsen and Lyle Johnsen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins Ellis was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 46 years Joan, and-in-laws: Guy and Gladys Johnsen. Celebrating the Life of Ellis Christianson (due to the Coronavirus Pandemic) Memorials may be given to Nazareth Lutheran Church of Kenmare. A Public Graveside Service will take place Monday, April 27, 2020 at Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, at 2:00 p.m. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, please observe social distancing. Ellis’s children would like to invite all who knew their dad to celebrate his life at a date to be determined following the coronavirus pandemic.
