Description	:	Elmer Edwin Ferguson, son of Peter and Eliza Ferguson, was born on a farm near Syracuse, Neb., April 6, 1880. He passed away at his home in Exeter, Easter Sunday morning, April 17, 1938, at 9:30, at the age of 58 years and 11 days. He grew to manhood at Syracuse and at the age of twenty-four he moved with his parents to Geneva, where he did carpenter work and also worked for the Geneva Nurseries for several years. Read More	Elmer Edwin Ferguson, son of Peter and Eliza Ferguson, was born on a farm near Syracuse, Neb., April 6, 1880. He passed away at his home in Exeter, Easter Sunday morning, April 17, 1938, at 9:30, at the age of 58 years and 11 days. He grew to manhood at Syracuse and at the age of twenty-four he moved with his parents to Geneva, where he did carpenter work and also worked for the Geneva Nurseries for several years. It was at this time that he united with the Congregational Church on confession of faith. September 27, 1916, he was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Eisele, at her home near Industry, Kas., and returned with his bride to Geneva, to make their home there. To this union were born tow daughters, Mildred Irene and Gladys Eliza. They lived in and near Geneva for about eight years, two years of this time he filled the position of sexton of the Geneva Cemetery. Then he spent two years on a nearby farm, after which he operated a produce station in Geneva. In 1920 he moved to Beaver Crossing to take care of a similar business for a short time before moving to Exeter in 1922, which has been his home practically ever since. Mr. Ferguson started a transfer line from Exeter to Lincoln and operated it until ill health caused him to sell his business. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, and his two daughters, Mildred and Gladys; also by four sisters, Dora Jefferson of Denver, Col., Ida Renico of Arizona, Lydia Kirst, Etta Reynolds, a brother, Noah D., all of Atascadero, Cal., and a brother, Richard F. of Los Angeles, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three sisters and one brother. Mr. Ferguson was a very kind and loving husband and father, devoted to his home and family. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by all. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. A. E. Bashford at the Congregational Church Wednesday afternoon, April 20.
