Services were held Saturday, February 5, 2000 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron, with Rev. William Flemr officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron. Pallbearers were Mike Crow, Alan and Terry Lanning, James Frankl, Karl Bieber and Lynn Johnson. Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dimmick was born December 23, 1904 in Decatur, Nebraska to Curtis and Martha (Holland) Dimmick. He married Lorraine Ida Dorothey Fredrickson October 5, 1932 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Lorraine passed away January 24, 1985. He lived and farmed in Union County South Dakota most of his adult life. In 1993 he became a resident of the Akron Care Center after being disabled by a stroke. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. Survivors include a daughter, Mardeen Lanning of Vermillion, South Dakota; two sons and their wives, Dellis and Patsy of rural Elk Point, and Delvin and Beverly of North Platte, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
