Description	:	Elmer Michael Kechley, was the son of Frank Daniel and Katherine Rupprecht Kechley. He was born in Beatrice,Gage County, Nebraska on December 14, 1893 and attended the rural Anyon and Riverside country schools and later attended the Northwestern Business College in Beatrice, Nebraska. On January 17, 1917 he was united in marriage to Sophena Matilda Damrow and three children were born to this union, one son dying in infancy. Read More	Elmer Michael Kechley, was the son of Frank Daniel and Katherine Rupprecht Kechley. He was born in Beatrice,Gage County, Nebraska on December 14, 1893 and attended the rural Anyon and Riverside country schools and later attended the Northwestern Business College in Beatrice, Nebraska. On January 17, 1917 he was united in marriage to Sophena Matilda Damrow and three children were born to this union, one son dying in infancy. Elmer Michael was a farmer by trade and on June 26, 1917 was out in the pasture gathering his cattle when a thunder storm approached. Elmer Michael was hit by lightning and was killed instantly. His sudden death was a terrible shock to family and friends. Elmer was baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Lutheran Church where he remained faithful until his death. He left to mourn his death his wife, one daughter, age 3 years and one son age one month, his mother, Mrs. Frank Daniel Kechley, one brother Harold of Julesburg, Colorado and one sister, Mrs. Tom Damrow of Beatrice, Nebraska and many other relatives and friends. Services were held at his home, then his body was brought to Beatrice and services were conducted in the home of his father-in-law, Fred Damrow and then at the St. John's Lutheran church. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Beatrice, Nebraska.
