Description	:	Elmer R. Gandy (Mayor of Crisfield, 1914-1916.) Mr. Gandy owned and operated one of the largest blacksmith shops in Crisfield from the period of the Civil War until his death in 1917. He was elected as town commissioner in 1897 and was re-elected each two years thereafter through 1908 at which time he resigned. In 1910 the town changed their form of government to a Mayor and three Councilmen. He was elected Mayor in 1914 for two years. Bio from, "Crisfield Maryland 1676-1976" by Woodrow T. Wilson, pg. 321.
