Description	:	Elmer Brokaw The funeral of Elmer Revo Brokaw, 83, Monticello, was held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at Goettsch Funeral home. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. Rev. Charles Eversman officiated. Mr. Brokaw died at his home in Monticello early Sunday morning, Feb. 10, following an extended illness. Mr. Brokaw died at his home in Monticello early Sunday morning, Feb. 10, following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 1,1898 in Perry, son of Elmer E. and Cora Beard Brokaw. He received his early education in Perry. He was married July 30, 1919 to Loretta Costley in Park Rapids, Minn. He farmed a short time in Minnesota before moving to Monticello, where he was employed as an engine watchman for the Milwaukee Railroad. He also worked for a local lumber company. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Elmer of Cedar Rapids and Harold of Marshall, Minn.; five daughters, Esther (Mrs. Elmer) Streeper and Alma, (Mrs. Dale) Walton, both of Monticello, Betty (Mrs. Kenneth) Bradford of Piggott, Ark., June (Mrs. William) Aschtgen of Rockford, HI. and Cora (Mrs. Merle) Pillard of Central City. Also surviving are 45 grandchildren, 55 greatgrandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. His parents, one son and two brothers preceded him in death.
