Description	:	Funeral services for Elmer Vance, 75, of Cooperstown, were held July 27, at Grace Lutheran Church in Cooperstown. Burial was in the McHenry Cemetery. He died July 23, 1994, in the Griggs County Hospital in Cooperstown. Elmer Russel Vance Was born October 5, 1918, in Plymouth, IL, the son of Wilmer and Ruth Lee (Meyers) Vance. In 1925, the family moved to North Dakota, living in Cummings and McHenry. Russ graduated from McHenry High School. He married Marcella Ehlers June 6, 1941, in Carrington, ND. Russ graduated from McHenry High School. He married Marcella Ehlers June 6, 1941, in Carrington, ND. Russ served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. After being discharged, Russ moved to Cooperstown where he worked for Crane-Johnson Lumber Yard, then in 1963, the couple moved to California, returning to Cooperstown in 1975. They moved to Florida and returned to Cooperstown to Cooperstown in 1988. He is survived by: his wife, Marcella of Cooperstown; two daughters, Nikki (Bill) Rahlf of Sutton and Shelly Dionne of Bloomington, MN; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois (Pete) Erickson of McHenry, and Twila Combs of Meadowvista, CA; one brother, Paul Vance of West Fargo.
