Elmer Vincent Weishaar was born June 19, 1923, near Rolfe Iowa. He was the son of Joseph and Rose (Milefchik) Weishaar. Elmer graduated from Havelock High School in 1940. Weishaar - age 92, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Pocahontas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, surrounded by his family. Elmer Vincent Weishaar was born June 19, 1923, near Rolfe Iowa. He was the son of Joseph and Rose (Milefchik) Weishaar. Elmer graduated from Havelock High School in 1940. He was employed in Pocahontas, at Western Auto and Farm and Home until 1951, when he started farming near Emmetsburg. Elmer married Priscilla Fitzgerald on June 17, 1947, at St Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina. The couple lived in Pocahontas and began farming near Emmetsburg. They later farmed near Varina, Clare, Albert City and Pocahontas, before moving into Pocahontas in 1976. Elmer continued to farm until 1990 when he retired. Elmer was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas. His special interests were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing cards with family and friends. In 2010, Elmer and Pat moved to Sioux Falls, SD and then to Lincoln, NE in 2015. Survivors include his wife Priscilla and children: Mark and Kathy Weishaar of Malvern, PA; Jane and Tom Wiehl of O’Fallon, IL; Roger and Sharon Weishaar of LeMars, IA; Mary and Larry Reiff of Omaha, NE and Scott and Shaun Weishaar of Lincoln, NE; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and brother Joe and Kathy Weishaar of Minneapolis, MN. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Rose Weishaar, brothers Leonard, Gilbert, R.J., Edwin, Melvin and Bernard; sisters Adelaide and Evelyn Kirby and grandchildren, Cari Reiff Hoffman and Michael Weishaar. Elmer was an example of dedication, perseverance, hard work and always putting his wife and children first.
