Description	:	Elsie Alice Millis was born on Nov. 23, 1941 in Belle Fourche, S.D. to Louis and Amelia (Heinert) Adams. She was raised on her family's farm near Nisland, S.D. and attended school in Belle Fourche. After graduating from Belle Fourche High School in 1961, Elsie was married to Jack Millis and they began raising four children, Sandra, Teresa, Rocky and Steven. Jack and Elsie later divorced. Read More	Elsie Alice Millis was born on Nov. 23, 1941 in Belle Fourche, S.D. to Louis and Amelia (Heinert) Adams. She was raised on her family's farm near Nisland, S.D. and attended school in Belle Fourche. After graduating from Belle Fourche High School in 1961, Elsie was married to Jack Millis and they began raising four children, Sandra, Teresa, Rocky and Steven. Jack and Elsie later divorced. She met her special friend, Bert Halman and they had a daughter together, Roberta. Elsie worked at Sparrow's Bakery for several years and later as a night manager at what is now known as the Family Thrift Center in Belle Fourche. After "retiring", she continued to stay busy with her own small cleaning business. Elsie loved spending time with her children and especially her six grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, especially at Christmas time and sharing her plates of "goodies" she made with her friends and neighbors. Elsie was always giving of herself to others and often putting their needs in front of her own. Everyone will remember Elsie because of her smiles, laughter and hugs. Elsie Millis passed from this life on Friday, March 12, 2004 in Belle Fourche following a courageous battle with cancer. Grateful for having shared her life are her father, Louis Adams, of Belle Fourche; Special friend, Bert Halman, of Belle Fourche; children, Sandra and husband Doug Stieg, of Ekalaka, MT, Teresa Millis and special friend, Marlin Johnson, of Belle Fourche, Rocky and wife Joanne Millis, of Spearfish, Steven Millis, of Albany, Ore.; and Roberta and husband Tom Rancour, of Yankton, S.D.; sisters, Marie Jacobs, of Belle Fourche, Florence and husband Jake Jacobs, of Sundance, Wyo. and Dorothy and husband Leland Bostrom, of Williston, N.D.; six grandchildren, Kelsee Millis, Jennifer Stieg, Justin Stieg, Hunter Millis, Peyton Millis and Samantha Rancour.
