Lindsey, 88, a life-time Humboldt resident, died Tuesday afternoon, January 27, at the Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute following a three week illness. She was born July 12, 1892 in Humboldt to John and Nettie (Slagle) King. On July 13, 1918, she was married to John K. Lindsey in Iola. He preceeded her in death September 30, 1962. She was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church, the Humboldt Senior Citizens, The Rebekah Lodge, and the American Legion Auxillary all of Humboldt. She was born July 12, 1892 in Humboldt to John and Nettie (Slagle) King. On July 13, 1918, she was married to John K. Lindsey in Iola. He preceeded her in death September 30, 1962. She was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church, the Humboldt Senior Citizens, The Rebekah Lodge, and the American Legion Auxillary all of Humboldt. Survivors include one son, Glen Lindsey of Fresno, California, four daughters, Jeanette Berg of Leavenworth, Marjorie Martindale of Miami, Fla., Betty Pilcher of Humboldt, and Rose Siegrist of Greenwood, Mo. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by two brothers, Leslie King and Clarence King, and by three sisters, Lizzie Johnson, Rose Dean, and Ethel Lindsey. Funeral services for Mrs. Lindsey were Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Humboldt United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Bumstead officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family has established a memorial to the Humboldt United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be left at the Price-Stanley Funeral Home in Humboldt.
