Services are 3 p.m. Monday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home chapel in Superior with the Rev. Rod Thelander officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery at Nelson. Visitation is noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Harvey was born June 23,1903, to Henry and Anna (Cloud) Molley at Geddes, S.D. At the age of 2, she moved with her parents to the Sandhills near Stapleton. At age 15 she went to work in a small restaurant where she was a baker,waitress and assistant cook. She married Harve W. Harvey and they moved to Ringold, living in a sod house and farming for four years. In 1923, they moved to Nelson and to Deshler in 1942. She worked in the Deshler Broom Factory, and retired as a supervisor after 20 years of employment there. Following the death of her husband on March 29, 1987, she moved to Superior. She later moved to Vestey Center before living at Good Samaritan Center. She was a 50-year member of the Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Ladies Aides and served as treasurer for the county Extension Club. Survivors are one son, Lester of Treynor, Iowa; three daughters, Esther Meyer of Superior, Lynn Surber of Denver and Iliene Heidtke of Arizona; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Inez Snavely. She passed away on January 27, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 101 years, 7 months and 4 days. She met her husband Harve W. Harvey, at a dance. In 1923, the Harvey's moved to Nelson with their oldest two children, Inez and Lester. Esther, Leona and Iliene were born in Nelson. In addition to their own children, Elsie and Harve took Paul and Charles Sibley as foster sons when their mother died, caring for them about eight years. After the death of her husband, Elsie moved to Superior, where she lived in her home. She later resided at the Vestey Center before making her home at the Good Samaritan Center where she resided until her death. Elsie was a 50 year member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Ladies Aides, and served as treasure for the County Extension Club. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Harve on March 29, 1987; and one daughter, Inez Snavely. Survivors include, son, Lester Harvey and wife Mildred of Treynor, Iowa; daughters, Esther Meyer and husband Donald of Superior, Nebraska; Lynn Surber and husband Bob of Denver, Colorado; and Iliene Heidtke and husband Robert of Arizona; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter, Reese Hock, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 31, 2005 from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Rod Thelander officiating. Music was provided by Alicia Ferguson, soloist and Howard Reed as pianist. Pallbearers B.J. Thelander, Ethan Rymph, Troy Hilligas, Dustin Rymph, Kent Thelander and Brian Dessel.
