She grew test roses for Jackson Perkins testing and creating new hybrids for them and also helped in naming those new hybrids. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Meyer, one brother Lester and two sisters Leona Surber and Inez Snavley. She is survived by her daughter Tricia Cayette and husband Arthur of Charleston, South Carolina and two grandchildren Dustin and Ethan Rymph along with a sister Iliene Heidtke of Sun City, Arizona. Private family funeral services were held from the Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to go to at this time in care of the family.
