Description	:	Elsie Lorena (Parsons) Buster, 98, the daughter of Mary Eunice (Foster) and Arthur Leonard Parsons, was born in Wray, Colorado, September 27, 1917, and died on June 10, 2016. She graduated from Max, Nebraska High School and attended Kansas State College from 1935-1937 majoring in Home Economics. She was a member of the Clovia Sorority at Kansas State. Read More	Elsie Lorena (Parsons) Buster, 98, the daughter of Mary Eunice (Foster) and Arthur Leonard Parsons, was born in Wray, Colorado, September 27, 1917, and died on June 10, 2016. She graduated from Max, Nebraska High School and attended Kansas State College from 1935-1937 majoring in Home Economics. She was a member of the Clovia Sorority at Kansas State. After moving to Kearney, Nebraska, where she lived with her brother and his family, Elsie attended Kearney State Teachers College where she obtained a teaching certificate after which she taught school near her home in Max. She met James Clayton Buster while at Kansas State. They were married in her parents' home on November 13, 1938 and moved to a farm east of Larned, Kansas, where Clayton farmed with his father. Elsie raised turkeys, chickens, goats and cooked for harvest crews. The couple had five children. She worked in the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Office in Larned. She later assumed the position of Director of Volunteer Services at Larned State Hospital. She taught herself shorthand and worked as a legal secretary for several years. When Clayton died on May 16, 1995, she moved from the farm to a new home in Larned in 1995, thent o Cedar Lake Village Retirement Center in Olathe, Kansas, in September 2011, and to the Good Samaritan Society in April 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers: Charles Parsons, Frank Parsons, Earl Parsons, and Lyman Parsons; two sisters: Alice Ingram and Jeannette Weldon; sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Votaw; brother-in-law, Charles Buster; infant grandson, Kevin Buster; daughter-in-law, Martha Buster; and nieces: Bettie Parsons, Joanne Heegard and Jewell Ingram Bowman Fortman. She is survived by five children, fifteen granchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
