DEAN WHITE The body of Mrs. Dean White, who passed away in a San Francisco, Calif., hospital on October 14, arrived in Edison Friday morning for funeral rites and burial. Her sister, Mrs. Mildred Lewis of Arapahoe vicinity, who had been called there by her illness, accompanied the remains on the sad return. Elsie Marie Fletcher was born near Hendley, May 10, 1912, and departed this life In San Francisco, Calif., October 14, 1939, at the age of 27 years, 5 months and 4 days. In March 1920, she moved with her parents to Beaver City, where she grew to womanhood. Although Marie had been in poor health about nine years, she was a patient sufferer and enjoyed her friends and their pleasures. She made her home one year with her sister, Mrs. B. C. Bobbitt at Edison and attended high school here, where she was graduated with the class of 1931. When a young girl, she joined the Christian Church in Beaver City and remained a faithful and active member. She was united in marriage to Dean White January 1, 1935, at Edison. They moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where they spent two years. Later going to Denver, Colorado, which was their home for a year. They then moved to San Francisco in December 1938. Mrs. White was kind, faithful and loving and those left to mourn her early departure are her husband; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fletcher of Beaver City; three brothers, Clay, Elmer and Ben Fletcher, all of Beaver City; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Bobbitt of Lexington, Ky., and Mrs. Mildred Lewis of Arapahoe; one niece and four nephews; and other relatives and a large circle of friends. The Edison Christian Church was filled Sunday afternoon with relatives, neighbors and friends, who gathered to pay final respect to one they loved: Mrs. Dean White. The funeral service at three o'clock was performed by the local pastor, Rev. A. Giese, assisted by Rev. Beckman, Christian Church pastor at Beaver City. A quartette from the Beaver City church, consisting of Mrs. E. Carter, Miss Roberta Hester, R.B. Garey and P. D. Fleming with Mrs. Kenneth Beckman at the piano sang "Asleep In Jesus" and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me". Mrs. Alvin Giese sang a request number "Good-night Sweetheart". Pallbearers were Dale Bonham of Holbrook, Harold Gibson, Ross Coffey, Thaddeus French, Willard Samples and Lyle Bottrell, all of Edison. Mrs. White was tenderly laid to rest in the Edison Cemetery, the place of her choice. W. R. Arnold and A. E. Williamson were funeral directors. R. Stagemeyer of Holbrook had charge of the many beautiful floral offerings which attested a silent tribute of love for Marie. With her sweet and lovable disposition, she won admirers wherever she went and her ideals in life were of the highest and best. She was ever cheerful, even though ill health had been an adversity for a number of years.
