Description	:	Mrs. B. E. Morehead passed away at her home in Albion Friday morning, April 26th, at the age of 52 years, 16 days. She suffered a paralytic stroke Sunday morning, April 14th and while her condition was very serious from the first, it was thought for a few days that she was showing some signs of improvement. When three years old her parents with their family... Read More	Mrs. B. E. Morehead passed away at her home in Albion Friday morning, April 26th, at the age of 52 years, 16 days. She suffered a paralytic stroke Sunday morning, April 14th and while her condition was very serious from the first, it was thought for a few days that she was showing some signs of improvement. However, there came a turn for the worse and she continued to fail until the end came Friday morning. Elva H. Galyean was born April 10th, 1877, near Earlville, Delaware county, Iowa. When three years old her parents with their family came to Boone county, Nebraska, settling on a homestead northeast of Albion. There she resided until 1894 when they moved to Albion. She was joined in marriage, September 9th, 1905, to Bert E. Morehead, Rev. E. T. George, pastor of the Albion Methodist church officiating. To this union one child, Thelma M., was born. She is survived by her husband, one brother, George Galyean, of Albion, and two sisters, Mrs. H. A. Longnecker of Calloway and Mrs. Alfred Clark of Albion. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, four sisters and her infant daughter. Mrs. Morehead was a member of the Albion Methodist church and was active in the work of the women’s organizations of the church. She was a good neighbor and a staunch friend. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Charles G. Gomon and Rev. H. A. Taylor. The Royal Neighbor lodge to which she belonged, together with a group of Royal Neighbors from Loretto, attended the service in a body. The beautiful floral offerings and the large concourse of people who gathered at the church for the funeral service spoke eloquently of the esteem in which Mrs. Morehead was held. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – May 2, 1929)
