Aug. 8, 1956 MOTHER OF MRS. G.R. SHAW DIES FUNERAL IN OHIO FRIDAY FOR MRS. ELVA JANE FLOOK, 80 Mrs. Elva Jane Flook, 80, mother-in-law of Rev. G. R. Shaw, pastor of the Pleasant Valley Wesleyan Methodist Church southeast of Monroe, died at 12 noon Tuesday at the South View Rest Home near Bluffton. Mrs. Flook had been ill since March when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Her condition was critical the past four days. She had resided with Rev. and Mrs. Shaw and family near the Pleasant Valley Church the past year. A native of Darke County, O., Mrs. Flook was born Oct. 20, 1875, the daughter of William B. and Leatha A. Vance Dell. She was married to George A. Miller, who died in 1910. In 1922 she married John Flook and he preceded in death Sept. 6, 1951. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. G.R. Shaw, Monroe; Ralph Miller, Dayton, Ohio; Howard Miller, Chicago Heights, Ill.; Mrs. Ruth Altie, Monroeville and Mrs. Lena Coleman, Fort Wayne. The following step-children survive; W. D. Miller Elkhart; Mrs. Faye Hollinger, Cando, S.D.; Mrs. May Lawshe, Leesburg, Mrs. Eva Stanger, Greentown, and Mrs. Mary Lawson and Mrs. Helen Shockney, both of Marion; 48 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren; a brother Pearly Dell, Greenville, Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Thompson of Packerton, Indiana and Mrs. Dennimin Sintra, Greenville, Ohio. Two sons, three brothers and two sisters are deceased. The body is at the Zwick Funeral Home in Decatur where friends may call after 7:00 p.m. today. Services will be held at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday after which the body will be taken to the E.U.B. Church near Greenville, Ohio where it will lie in state until services.
