Description	:	Elvin Carroll, the son of Bailey and Florence Carroll, was born February 1, 1884, near Edgar, Nebraska, and after a brief illness, departed this life at Cheyenne, Wyoming, April 22, 1948, at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 21 days. Read More	Elvin Carroll, the son of Bailey and Florence Carroll, was born February 1, 1884, near Edgar, Nebraska, and after a brief illness, departed this life at Cheyenne, Wyoming, April 22, 1948, at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 21 days. He grew to young manhood in and near Edgar. Later he was in business at Franklin. Here he was united in marriage on May 18, 1910, to Miss Georgiana Trussell. To this union three children were born. A daughter died in infancy. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll came to Fairfield, where they lived one year, then they moved to Nuckolls County, living in and near Nelson until 1936. Then they moved to Red Cloud, and later moved to Kearney, where they lived until July, 1947, when because of Mrs. Carroll's failing health, they moved to Boise, Idaho. Later they returned to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where on October 28, 1947, she slipped away to be with God. Since the death of his wife, Mr. Carroll has made his home with his son, Noel T. and family, at Cheyenne, Wyoming. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Meyer of Corbett, Oregon, and the son, Noel T. Carroll of Cheyenne; four grandchildren, Carol Meyer, Jack, Larry and Michael Carroll; a brother, Ora Carroll of Elgin; and one sister, Mrs. Della Hill of Fargo, N.D. When a young man he became a member of the Christian Church, and later, with his wife, united with the Methodist Church of Nelson. After they moved to Kearney, he transferred his membership to the Kearney Methodist Church. "Deep silence attends the great things of life, In silence the soul takes its flight, O'er the stars it enters that Haven of Rest, Free at last from earth's pain and its strife." The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Klawitter Mortuary and were in charge of Rev. V.E. Daniels of Harvard, assisted by Rev. Clarence V. Powell of Nelson. Mrs. Pearl Clem and Mrs. Bertha Portwood sang accompanied by Mrs. Nova Hite. The pallbearers were: Ollie Aikin, W.L. Portwood, Chas. Chamberlain, W.W. Hawley, Harlan Zimmerman and Floyd Meyer.
