The Carrolls resided in Nelson for many years, where Mr. Carroll was engaged in the real estate business. Since leaving here they have made their home in Kearney. Recently they had spent some little time in Oregon and Wyoming because of Mrs. Carroll's health. The Carrolls resided in Nelson for many years, where Mr. Carroll was engaged in the real estate business. Since leaving here they have made their home in Kearney. Recently they had spent some little time in Oregon and Wyoming because of Mrs. Carroll's health. She is survived by her husband, a son, Noel T. of Kearney, a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Meyer of Corbett, Oregon, and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Doher of Nelson. The remains are being brought to Nelson, where funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) in the Klawitter Chapel at two o'clock, with burial in the Edgar cemetery. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 30, 1947 ============================= Georgiana Trussell, the daughter of George Howard Trussell, and his wife Annie, was born April 19th, 1888, in Staunton, Virginia, in Rockingham County, and departed this life in Cheyenne, Wyoming, October 28, 1947, at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 9 days. She grew to young womanhood in Rockingham, Missouri, on May 18, 1910, she was united in marriage to Elvin Carroll. They came to Fairfield, Nebraska where they lived on year and then moved to Nuckolls county (sic), liviing (sic) in and near Nelson until 1936. They then moved to Red Cloud, Nebraska, and later moved to Kearney, remaining there until May of this year, when her failing health demanded a change. In July they moved to Boise, Idaho, hoping for improved health, and then to Cheyenne, Wymoning, but all this was to no avail, and at Cheyenne on Tuesday morning she slipped away to be with God. Sister Carroll leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Meyer of Corbett, Oregon, and one son, Noel T. Carroll of Kearney, four grandchildren: Carol Meyer, Jack, Larry and Michael Carroll. She leave one sister, Mrs. Lulu Doher of Nelson, Nebr. An infant daughter, her parents, one brother, and two sisters have preceded her in death. At the age of 15 years she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Methodist Church. She has been a most faithful member, an ardent worker in God's great vineyard. The testimony of her friend is: "She loved the Church, she was a true disciple of her Lord and Master. Sister Carroll was of a happy disposition, always looking on the bright side of life. These lines written by Ralph S. Cushman give us her philosophy of life: I have made up my mind to be pleasant, The day is none to bright at the best, And my smile, though it may need some urging, Will kindle a light some breast. And the words of Rev. George Muller could very fittingly be her words also. "I saw more clearly than ever that the first great and primary business, to which I ought to attend everyday, was to have my soul happy in the Lord." The funeral services were held in the Klawitter Mortuary at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. V.R. Daniels of Harvard; Rev. Clarence V. Powell assisted. Music was furnished by a quartet: Mrs. Pearl Clem, Mrs. Bertha Portwood, Jas. F. Murphy and Edward Portwood. Mrs. Henry H. Hite presided at the piano. The pallbearers were: Warren C. Hall, Harlan Zimmerman, Ralph Mumma, Edward Portwood, Henry H. Hite and Floyd Meyer. The body was taken to Edgar for burial. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, November 6, 1947
