Mueller, George Masson, Delbert Clawson, Earl Rapp, Dr. L. H. Eske, Dale Sour and Joe Williams. Acting pall bearers were employees of the Groton post office namely, S. E. Windh, Duane Neumann, Hans P. Gangen, Vern Tuthill, George Potter and Dennis Baldry. Emil P. Erdmann was born Feb. 12, 1885,at Groton. He attended Concordia College in St. Paul, later transferring to Concordia College in Milwaukee. He was employed by the St. Paul Pioneer Press a number of years. Later he studied welding at Birmingham, Ala., after which he returned to Groton and worked with his father in the blacksmith and plumbing business. In 1936 he was appointed Postmaster in Groton and continued as such until Feb. 1955. The deceased invested himself unselfishly in civic and community affairs, and worked unceasingly to bring out the beauty in all things. Survivors are his widow, Grace; his aged mother, Mrs. Bertha Erdmann of Groton; one sister, Mrs. Jas. Wilcox, Webster, and two brothers, Herman of Aberdeen and Gilbert of Groton. His father and one brother preceded him in death. Relatives and friends attending the last rites from away were: Mr. and Mrs. James Wilcox, Webster; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Erdmann, Mr. and Mrs. James Callum, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erdmann, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Van Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fessenden, Mrs. Wm. Ferguson, Bert Knapp, and Miss Augusta Schuelke all of Aberdeen; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fessenden and son, Earl, Miltonville, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gibson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Knapp, Ipswich; the Ora and Arnold Erdmann families of Wetonka.
