Description	:	Emily Jane Legg was the daughter of Sampson Legg and Eliza Brown Stanfield Legg. She married Dexter George Hathhorn on Jan 4, 1869. He died Aug 30, 1907. She married Burgess L Chambers in 1915. Emily had 11 children: George Dexter, Ann Eliza, Isaac Stillman, Margaret Alice, Mary Evelyn, A Perry, John Franklin, Ike, Henry Nathan, Charles David, and an infant. Obit from newspaper Craig Leader [Missouri] on April 13, 1928 Mrs Emily Chambers was born in Cole County, Missouri, April 3, 1928; died at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to DG Hathorne of Cole County, Missouri, in 1867, coming to Craig, Missouri, in 1875. Her husband was a blacksmith and was in partnership with the late Alle Porter. To this union eleven children were born namely: George, Ike; Anna, now Mrs John Beldin of Lincoln, Nebr; Alice, now Mrs John Cook; Mary, now Mrs F Carroll, Craig; Frank, Kansas City; Henry N, Fairfax and Charles of Corning, Missouri. A son Perry died in 1914 and a son and daughter (twins) died in early childhood. In 1887 the family moved to Western Nebraska, and in 1894 returned to Missouri. In 1890 she united with the ME Church at Elsie, Nebraska and transferred her membership to Craig, living continuously in that faith. In 1915 she was married to BL Chambers who also has preceded her in death. She was a kind and affectionate mother, devoted to her home and family and good to everybody. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Thus another good woman has passed on to mourned by her family and a large number of relatives and friends.
