Description	:	Eliza Brown's parents are unknown at this time. Her maiden name was listed as Brown on her son Frank's death certificate, no other proof of her maiden name. Eliza was married twice. First to Elias Stanfill, with whom she had three sons: Sherrod, Franklin and Perry. Elias died in 1844 and Eliza then married Sampson Legg. They had two daughters, Nancy Ellen and Emily Jane. From the Jefferson City, Cole County Democrat, May 1, 1890: Obituary: Died at the home of her son-in-law's, at Bandon, Cass County, Oregon, April 3rd, 1890, Mrs Eliza Legg, who was born in Tennessee, February 20th, 1820, and emigrated to Missouri with her husband, the father of Mr Frank Stanfill, in 1839. Was left a widow in 1844 and afterwards became the wife of Sampson Legg, with whom she lived until the late civil war when she was again left a widow. Her last husband died in Coffeyville, Miss, while serving in General Parsons' command. Mrs Legg emigrated to Oregon in 1871, with her daughter, Mrs Nancy A Robertson. She lived a consistent Christian life for nearly thirty years and died in the triumph of a living faith, and went home to glory, giving evidence of this fact in her last moments. She was laid to rest under the auspices of the "Eastern Star" of which she was a member. Three children and numerous friends mourn over their bereavement but take comfort in the thought, " that their loss is her gain."
