Description	:	STINTON, EMILY LUCY—Emily Lucy Tutton, daughter of George and Hannah Tutton, was born at Clinton, Ia., May 29, 1857. She passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb. at 7 p. m. Read More	STINTON, EMILY LUCY—Emily Lucy Tutton, daughter of George and Hannah Tutton, was born at Clinton, Ia., May 29, 1857. She passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb. at 7 p. m. Tuesday, October 8, 1940, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 9 days. She was married to Charles Stinton at Morrison, Ill., January 15, 1879, moving to Nebraska in the spring of the same year. During the early years, she with her husband faced the real difficulties and privations of the pioneer. Through the various stages and circumstances of farm life, they mastered many disturbing situations, proving themselves capable of making a worthy contribution to county and state. Mrs. Stinton was a faithful member of the Methodist church, finding in its activities an outlet for her varied and many sided interests until she was stricken by illness March 25, 1937. During this lingering illness which compelled her to remain in bed, she never forgot the church for which she had labored and loved so many years. She leaves to mourn her death, two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Jones and Mrs. Clyde Ewart; also four grandchildren, Harold, Paul, and Eugene Archer, and Mrs. LaVeeta Moore of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and two great-grandchildren, Richard and Marilyn Moore. Her husband Charles Stinton, and two children, a son Vernon Leroy and a daughter, Elva Archer, preceded her in death. After a pilgrimage of suffering and weariness, she has entered into rest where there is abundant peace and eternal joy. The funeral was held at 2 p .m. Thursday, October 10, at the Methodist church, Rev. William Kilburn officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal, October 17th, 1940 page 1.
