Ewart was born to Charles Stinton and Emily Lucy Tutton Stinton on June 11, 1889, at Geneva, and passed away on December 23, 1984, at Heritage of Geneva at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 12 days. Ewart was born to Charles Stinton and Emily Lucy Tutton Stinton on June 11, 1889, at Geneva, and passed away on December 23, 1984, at Heritage of Geneva at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 12 days. She was one of four children in the family. Vallia spent her entire life in the Geneva area, most of which was spent on the family farm five and one-half miles northwest of Geneva. In early 1947, she and her husband moved to town. Vallia attended rural school and later took music in Lincoln, after which she taught piano in Fillmore county with her means of transportation being that of horse and buggy. She was married to Clyde K. Ewart on January 18, 1912. They made their home in Geneva from 1947 to 1965, when Clyde passed away. Vallia continued to live in her home until 1980 when she moved into Heritage due to failing health. Vallia’s interests were far ranging from music to gardening. She was a member of the Methodist Ladies Circle and belonged to the United Methodist church in Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by two sisters and one brother. She is survived by nephews, Harold of Coldwater, Mich., Paul of Beaufort, S.C., and Eugene of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and by one niece, Mrs. Laveeta Moore of Clamouth Falls Ore. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer and Son funeral home in Geneva on Thursday, December 27, with the Rev. Donald Marsh officiating. Musical selections were “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and “Precious Memories.” Those serving as pallbearers were Glen Carlson, Larry Carlson, Harold Moravec, W. C. Nelson, Edward Sieckmann and Joseph Turek. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal January 3rd, 1985 page 5.
