Description	:	Pioneer Republican 8/9/1951 Victor: The body of Mrs. Emma Carl, 82, who died Friday at a Des Moines nursing home, was brought to Victor Monday for funeral services and burial. Rites were at the First Methodist Church in charge Rev. Larry E. Evans. Burial was the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mrs. Merle Mohr, Mrs. Clyde Provin and Mrs. Everett Mohr took care of the flowers. Moved to Victor Emma Agnes Mohr, daughter of Philip and Frances Michalek Mohr, was born on July 20, 1869, at Sandwich, IL. At at early age she moved with her parents to Victor. On March 24, 1892, she was united in marriage to Albert L. Carl, and they established their new home on a farm north of Guernsey. To this union were born one daughter: Ella Carl Whitaker, who preceded her mother in death, Alfred P. and Evan M. both of Des Moines. Mr. Carl died Aug. 24, 1920. At at early age Mrs. Carl joined the Immanuel Methodist church south of Victor, transferring her membership to the Guernsey Methodist church and later to Grace Methodist church at Des Moines. Lived in Des Moines Mrs. Carl had lived in Des Moines from 1929 until 1949. She had spent 15 months in Victor with her sister, Mrs. Wm. Carl, and in the home of her nephew and niece, Mrs. and Mrs. Jake Fullmer, leaving here in May to return to Des Moines. Besides her two sons, she leaves to mourn her passing one granddaughter, Mildred Carl; four brothers, John C. Mohr and Vincent Mohr of Victor, Cleveland Mohr of Deep River and Oliver Mohr of Los Angeles, CA.; two sisters, Anna Carl of Victor and Lydia Whitehead of Malcom. Mrs. Carl was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Ella, her parents and two brothers George P. and Frank J. and one sister, Ella Atherton.
