Description	:	Mrs. F. H. Bubach, passed away last Wednesday. Emma Hardtke Bubach first saw the light of day December 10, 1878. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hardtke. Her birthplace was in Germany. Soon after her birth, her Christian parents, brought her to the Lord’s House for Holy baptism. Bubach and they made their home on... Read More	Mrs. F. H. Bubach, passed away last Wednesday. Emma Hardtke Bubach first saw the light of day December 10, 1878. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hardtke. Her birthplace was in Germany. Soon after her birth, her Christian parents, brought her to the Lord’s House for Holy baptism. At the age of twelve she came to America with her parents and located at Aberdeen, SD. Here she was confirmed in 1895. Three years later, on July 24, 1898, she was united in Holy matrimony with F. H. Bubach and they made their home on a farm near Litchville. To this union eight children were born, three of whom died in infancy. They living children are, two sons; John and Fred of Litchville; and three daughters, Alma and Lillie of Valley City, and Esther, Mrs. Russell Fewell of Litchville. Emma Bubach was a lifelong and faithful member of the Lutheran Church. She was a true pioneer mother and contributed much toward making this a better community during those early days of our state. In October, 1944, she moved with her husband and children to Valley City, where she resided until the time of her demise. She became ill in 1940 and underwent treatment at the Lutheran Hospital of Jamestown. She suffered a great deal from 1940 to 1942. From 1942 on, her health improved somewhat and she was getting along fairly well until November 4 of this year when she became seriously ill. She was taken to the hospital in Valley City on Thursday, November 7. Here she underwent an operation from which she never recovered and she departed this life on Wednesday, November 13. In spite of all her suffering she was always cheerful and patient. She was a most willing and helpful wife and mother. She leaves to mourn besides her husband and children, one sister, Mrs. Alma Stephens of Spokane, Washington; three brothers: Ewald Hardtke and Emil Hardtke of Marion, and Fred Hardtke of Grannum, Alberta, Canada; an uncle, Albert Hardtke of Aberdeen, SD; and five grandchildren. Her parents and one brother, Clarence Hardtke, preceded her in death. Our community joins in extending sympathy to relatives who mourn her passing.
