Esther Amanda Elsie Buibach was born June 18, 1910, in LaMoure County, North Dakota, the daughter of Ferdinand and Emma (Hardtke) Bubach. Read More	Esther Amanda Elsie Fewell, 88, Valley City, North Dakota, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City. Esther Amanda Elsie Buibach was born June 18, 1910, in LaMoure County, North Dakota, the daughter of Ferdinand and Emma (Hardtke) Bubach. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Litchville. Before attending school she was taught the German language, becaust that is what was spoke in church. It wasn’t until she started school that she learned English. Esther attended Gladstone Township School and graduated from Litchville High School. She attended Valley City State University for 12 weeks earning a certificate to teach school. After teaching in a rural school for four years and attending Valley City State University for five more quarters, she received her standard teaching certificate. She married O. Russell Fewell on June 11, 1934 in Litchville. They made their home at McMinnville, Oregon for one year and they returned to North Dakota and farmed near Litchville. From 1964 to 1972, she taught remedial reading at Litchville Public School. They retired in 1976. Esther and Russell remained on the farm until February 1992, when they moved to Valley City. Russell died January 27, 1995. Esther enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, woodwork, gardening, being outdoors and especially her family and grandchildren. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Louise, five sisters and one brother. The funeral was held March 19 at First Lutheran Church, Litchville. Burial will be later in the spring in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley Cidty.
