She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and attended school at Logan Center. She married William J. Baehr on Jan. 16, 1940, at the Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell, and they lived and farmed near Filley for nine years and then west of Adams for 14 years. They moved to Beatrice in 1964. She was born on June 11, 1918, at rural Filley. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell and attended school at Logan Center. She married William J. Baehr on Jan. 16, 1940, at the Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell, and they lived and farmed near Filley for nine years and then west of Adams for 14 years. They moved to Beatrice in 1964. She was a human resource technician at BSDC from 1964 to 1981. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice and the blanket sewing group. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and socializing with family and friends. Survivors include three sons, Harlan Baehr and wife Verda of Lincoln, LeRoy Baehr of Brighton, Colo., and William A. Baehr and wife Lois of Springfield, Mo.; six daughters, Leanna Minick and husband Joe of Edgewater, Maryland, Linda Drake Williams and husband Michael of Eustis, Fla., Connie Baehr of Anchorage, Alaska, Shirley Baehr of Orlando, Fla., Betty Friedrichs and husband Dave of Marysville, Kan,, and Debra Caudill and husband Chris of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Gary George of Florida; one brother-in-law, Alfred Baehr of Adams; six sisters-in-law, Emma Stevens, Teda Rathe, Lena Paben, Grace Huttenmaier and Hattie Schuster, all of Beatrice, and Emma Baehr of Lincoln; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Frauka (Ackerman) Buhr; her husband, William, who died on May 28, 1999; her daughter, Carolyn George; one grandson, Scott William Baehr; one great-grandson, Shawn Micheal O'Boyle; one son-in-law, Ben Drake; six brothers; and five sisters. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday morning, March 17, 2008, at St. John Lutheran Church, Sixth and Washington streets, Beatrice, with Pastor David Kramer and Pastor Joann Kramer officiating. Private burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice at 10 a.m. Monday.
