Description	:	Emma J. Landers, 77, of Elk Point, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1991, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Services were Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic church, Elk Point. Rev. John Rasmussen officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Anderson funeral home in Elk Point. Mrs. Landers, the former Emma J. Callahan, was born July 15, 1914, at Elk Point, daughter of William and Louise (Trudeau) Callahan. She graduated from Elk Point high school. She married Ruel E. Landers Jan. 15, 1935, at Elk Point. Mrs. Landers, the former Emma J. Callahan, was born July 15, 1914, at Elk Point, daughter of William and Louise (Trudeau) Callahan. She graduated from Elk Point high school. She married Ruel E. Landers Jan. 15, 1935, at Elk Point. They farmed in rural Elk Point until 1970. Mr. Landers died Feb. 2, 1970. She worked as a deputy clerk of courts in Elk Point until retiring in 1984 She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and the church's Altar Society. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary Ellen) Stotz of Sioux City and Patricia Van Bockern of Sioux Falls; three brothers, William of Elk Point, Raymond of Folsom, Calif., and Richard of Panorama City, Calif.; four sisters, Irene Paulin of Salem, S.D., Mary Pauley of Milan, Ill., Betty Swanson of Alcester, S.D., and Elaine Lorensen of Akron, la.; six grandchildren, Jo Ellen Hebert, Lynn Brown and Michael Stotz, all of Sioux City, Luann Van Bockerm of Knoxville, Tenn., Lori Van Bockern of Sioux Falls and Brian Van Bockern of Brookings, S.D.; five great-grandchildren, Janette, Jessica and Jenna Hebert, Marie and Melinda Brown, all of Sioux City.
